Can comets collide with the earth ?

Yes ! If the orbit of the comet is such that it is on a collision course with the earth, then it will definitely hit the earth. Only in July 1994, we witnessed the spectacular collision of comet Shoemaker - Levy 9 with the planet Jupiter as it took place.
